Trumped!

OK - So I spend 125 bucks to attend a charity event with Carroll Shelby and another 50 bucks to have him sign my car. I got to talk with him for a minute or two and was feeling pretty special...

until my girlfriend called me at about 11:00 this morning.


She works for United Airlines and guess who she gets to help? Carroll and his wife. She chats it up with him for about 40 minutes, walks him through security and gets invited to tea with Carroll's wife next time they're in town. (My girlfriend is from Ireland and Cleo Shelby is from England.) So, I'm bouncing off the walls until she gets home. She can talk for hours about the color of the walls, but does she give me the details when she gets home? No.... I have to drag it out of her.

Anyway, it was an exciting evening. I got the car signed by Carroll, Bob Bondurant and Jack Sears. A good number of the old Carroll Shelby racing team from the mid 60's were there and they are all great guys.

I gotta start drinkin' tea!
