    Default Padron Delicias

Ok, tonite I'm smoking a Padron Delicias Maduro. It's a 4 7/8" x 46 all Nicaraguan stick that's been in my humi for 2-3 months. Average price for these is $3.00 each.

Now, upon lighting this I immediately become aware that most people's "medium" bodied is my "extreme" bodied. almost every review I read for this labels it as medium bodied, but as for me, I say medium body my . It's slapping me around and making me say uncle.

Construction: Ok. some soft spots and a little lumpy
    Cut: not so good
    Draw: Nice, almost loose
Ash: Mediocre, would only hold for a 1/2 inch at a time
Burn: had to be relight twice, and it's not my fault this time. it continually tried to go out.
Smoked To: the band ... because it went out ... again.

    Drink: water
Entertainment: chatting it up with TheNakedGun and Godfather

Although all the above sounds negative, you have to keep in mind this is a $3 cigar, so in perspective, it's not that bad of a smoke and I am willing to try again when i am more prepared. Although, towards the last 1/4 of the smoke, it tended to loose some of it's strength and mellowed out a little.

All in all, i'm a little disappointed, but i try to give it the benefit of the doubt and think maybe this was a dud. Dudes on top25cigar.com labeled it a 8.17, i would not be so nice if i based it on this particular stick.

Hey Chris, how long have you had that cigar in your humi? It sounds like your poor burn and multiple relights were caused by the cigar being a little too wet and a good couple of weeks in a humi that's between 60% & 65% may help.

Also since these are the lower quality Padrons, the draw is looser than the higher end ones which also contributes to a lousy burn and higher probability of the damn thing going out on you.

I smoked a Padron 4000 or whatever a couple of days ago that I received as part of my CigarPool winnings and I didn't like it. However the Padron 1926 #6 maduro I'm smoking right now is a fantastic smoke!
