Default What Do You Do With the Bands?

Just curious. I use to throw them in an old cigar box I had laying around, that way I could see how many i had smoked, and it would help me remember what I liked. Now I've taken it a step further and started using Chris' Mighty Fine Cigar Review Anaylsis Database Template*, so i've started taping them to the top of the CMFCRAD sheet. I know alot of you dudes do the same. Some might throw it away. Like I said, i was just curious, but mostly bored.

    your turn.

I used to do the same thing when I started getting serious, Chris. It got too bothersome after a while and I stopped journaling cigars, taping the bands etc. and ceased maintaining an overall inventory at some point. Now I just smoke what I like and keep mental notes of the new ones.

I still hold on to bands in an empty box. Some maker's offer freebies and discounts for bands- i.e. Cuesta Rey. Once in a while, I will get feeling creative and make a mosaic with them and then mat and frame the finished piece.

this idea has been floating around in my head as well.

ya, i don't journal every cigar. just the first one i try. if i know i like it, i just smoke it. another thing is it really helps me remember some characteristics about the cigar. it's like when I know i need to remember something, so I write a note. The thing is, writing the note is good enough, i won't have to ever look at the note, just writing it helps me remember. i'd like to start knowing more about cigars ie. place of origin, filler, wrapper, crap like that, and writing it really helps. Like, I can remember that the Padron I smoked last nite is made of all Nicaraguan products. usually, i suck at remembering things like that. i probably won't ever have to look back at that note again to remember that. i think you catch my drift.

I throw them into an Scotch bottle case for a future contest that I'm going to hold here.

And, no, I'm not telling you which case...

Cool, I'm going to shamelessly borrow that idea some day if you don't mind.

Chris, I've been saving everything that I liked, and those that were putrid as a reminder. Yard gars or mundane stuff gets tossed. Right now, they're in 2 Short Story boxes.

Go ahead, I borrowed it from someone else.
