    Default New Smoker from GA

Hello everyone I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Dan, I'm 26, I live in central Georgia, and I'm a computer support contractor working for the DOJ at the local Air Force Base. I'm just getting into the cigar scene, and know very little about them currently, but I hope to change that. I have already learned a good deal by lurking here and reading. Up until recently I never really smoked any cigars, the exception being when I was in highschool a number of years ago and me and my friends would smoke Swishers to look "cool".

So far I think I may have started down what many would consider the wrong path in cigar smoking. As it currently stands the only cigars I have really smoked have been ACID cigars that my dad gave me, he has been smoking cigars and pipes for 30+ years and they are his favorite type by far. But I would like to broaden my horizons so any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Welcome from CT.

Smoke everything you can get your hands on and stick with what "you" enjoy. Screw what other's think about what you smoke.

P.S. You came to the right place. We have a good group of guys/gals here.
"No one can tell me what is a good cigar -- for me. I am the only judge. There are no standards -- no real standards. Each man's preference is the only standard for him, the only one which he can accept, the only one which can command him."

Yeah welcome to the forum. Don't let the reaction to the occasional A-hat put you off. The folks here are good.

    Ditto
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

Yep, smoking what you like is all that matters. Personally, don't much care for the acids I've tried, but then I've only tried two, the nasty and blonde.

As experience grows your pallete will develop and/or change so it's best to keep an open mind.

Welcome, from above the gnat line in Ga.

Some good ones to try for new guys is Padron 2000 and 3000, Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real, Saint Luis Rey and La Aroma De Cuba. Nice, mild sticks with good tobacco flavor.
