Personal BAC tester question

So any of you know of a good personal BAC test machine. I want to get one but I want it to be accurate, portable and affordable.

As a scotch guy my tolerance is pretty high. Higher than .08, but that doesn't matter shit, only the .08 counts for anything and I want to keep my license.

That's one solution but not the one I'm looking for.

The best one is the one they installl in your car. You have to blow into it and pass the BAC inorder for it to start.

I know the problem with most hand held breathalysers is that they need to be re-calibrated every so often. I saw one on Ebay for around 100ish dollars that looked fairly good. Instead of having to be re-calibrated, the sensor that measures BAC was removable, and you just have to replace it with a new pre-calibrated module when it gets out of whack.

Well considering I maybe go out once every 2 or 3 months (note I have a 4 yr old and twin 9 month olds) and have maybe 3 drinks at dinner, like a scotch and a glass of wine or two, that maybe a bit more than I need.

I'm looking more for a quick test to tell me if should go the "alright, lets have that coffee and desert and buy and extra 1/2 hr." route.

Let me suggest absolutely no driving after drinking. You like me have absolutely too much to loose.

If you have an accident after drinking you are in a world of shit. Even if you beat the criminal side you still could be held liable in civil court.

One drink causes a loss of motor skills. That could be enough in civil court to really cost you...Plus you could possibly have to live with the fact that you caused the death or injury of another human...Not to mention what you might do to yourself.

If you feel like you need a test you should not be driving...Period.

All this advice is comming from a guy that enjoys a good drink and lets somebody drive him after doing so.

I was trying to create a paradox for you with my crazy answer and you did answer your own question. For the amount of time you may over drink it is better to just have someone else drive you home. Sarge is right you do have way too much too lose. I like you work in a courthouse. I deal with victims of DWI crashes weekly sometimes I just deal with the victim's family because the victim is deceased. I know I am preaching to the choir when I tell you even if you only had one drink and the crash was truly an accident the scrutiny you will endure, aligned with the natural consciouses of the judicial system and lastly still having to live with yourself is not worth any amount of driving after drinking alcohol.

A friend of mine had one beer and got in a car to prevent his buddy from drunking driving to denny's. He got pulle dover blew a .09, recently he pulled over and blew .10 from the two he lost his CDL, he recently sold his rigs and is comtemplating going back to school casue they won't let him drive and its not profitable to operate his company with other drivers with fuel at thsi price.
