Thread: It finally showed up!

  1. Default It finally showed up!

Well after a few weeks of waiting, I finally got my Humidor shipped up from home to my school (which is almost 2000 miles away). It's a 100 count humidor. I'll be getting an electronic hygrometer for it relatively soon.

    Right now its holding:

    15 Cusano CC
    1 Oliveros Classic Collection (Cameroon)
    3 A. Fuente Gran Reserve
    1 Fonsceca Vintage
    1 Ghurka Ancient Warrior
    2 Cohiba (Dominican)
    1 Montecristo No. 4

The hygrometer is reading abot 65 right now, but apparently the analog ones are unreliable from what I've been hearing and reading. I'll be getting an electronic one soon.

When I get back home for President's Day I'll be bringing up some more to stock it.

Pictures to come once I get a hold of a camera.

do a salt test on the hygrometer, that will let you know if its accurate or not.
its good to always test them, even the digital ones.

just search for salt test on the forum, it should show up

I've driven my tupperdor back and forth a thousand miles across the country a few times, from my school to where my parents live... definitely would have improved the drive if I had allowed myself to smoke in the car...

As far as the digital hygrometers go, Wal-Mart has em for about $12.00 and I've had great luck with them.

Thats the problem. The closes WalMart is about 40 miles away which is outside my zone of travel for my school. I can walk to the nearby town (no walmart) on weekends, and its only about a mile away. But that's as far as I am permitted (as Plebe anyway) on weekends unless I take pass. And I only have one pass per semester.

Yeah we (my classmates and I) try not to throw the name around too much. I mean how toolish would it sound for somone to just walk in and say "Hi I'm from West Point! I'm such a big deal!" It just gets alot of unwanted attention. Like whenever we go home that's all we get asked about, and we just want to relax. You know?

If you can receive packages in the mail, you should talk one of your buddies into mailing you one.

I'm not big on doing reviews, tobacco doesn't taste like "cocoa" or "nutty" or "mocha" to me, it tastes like freakin' TOBACCO. I know what I like and I really don't care what other people think of other cigars. I've never read a review and said to myself "Wow, that sounds like a cigar I'd like to try!"

West Point is The United States Military Academy. It's one of the three service academies in the country (West Point is for the Army, there is one for Navy and also Air Force). It is also the nations first Military Academy and Engineering School.

West Point is an Army run facility. On Reception Day, we are inducted into the US Army and from that point forward go by Army rules and regulations.

-The Dean, Superintendant, and Commandant are all Generals (3 and 2 stars)
-Our isntructors are anywhere from Captains to Colonels (with the exception of a few Military Science Instructors who are NCOs)

    It's not your normal college.

Hygrometer went through the Salt Test just fine.

The Humidor's reading 66% as of right now.
