a good low price cigar???

I am getting married at the end of the summer and want to do a cigar theme. There will be a few people that smoke cigars regularly, but many others generally don't. Can anyone recommend a good, but low price cigar that can come bundled. I don't want to waste money on good sticks for people to light up and then toss because they don't really like them or are just smoking them b/c they are there.

I have checked online a bit, and found the "buck-a-stick" on Cigars International. If anyone has tried any of these I would appreciate some input, or direct me at something else.

This one's always difficult, but there are some cigars like JR Alts which are a well made cigar with decent tobacco that may not appeal to someone that prefers Fuentes and Ashtons, but to someone that smokes a couple cigars a year, they are after the experience and as long as it doesn't take like a turd they will be happy.

Just remember, if you buy a bundle of crap and only 5 people smoke them at the party, then you have 20 more to get rid of, and the price per stick just climbed 400% If you get a decent cigar for a little more money that you like then you may not smoke them all at once but they are around.

JR Alts, new ones are not too bad.
Consuegras. Seconds and some great deals.
Flor de Olivas good all around.
Victor Sinclair Vintage
5 vegas
Pirates Gold. Not bad, but not great
Fire. decent, not great
Flor de todo

Keep your eyes on the CI and JR specials and auctions. If you got some time before the event you can lowball bid and wait until you get them for as low as possible.

I've been looking at the Roly seconds (click here)... One person suggested that they were acceptible for an everyday "yard work" smoke... I haven't tried any of the other Reyes cigars, but have read good things.

How many cigars you think you'll need? 25, 50, 100?

Some don't like the short filler Arturo Fuente Curly Head, but I think it is a pretty good cigar for the price. A little too mild for me but it has a nice tobacco taste. Box of 40 for $64

I also like the Fuente petit coronas, they are more expensive, but also considered more of the premium line in Fuente. Box of 25 for $69

Me personally I wouldn't want to be passing out cigars I wouldn't smoke myself, and I have a boxes of the Fuente petit corona and Famous madurito in the coolidor now.

you can get a box of sancho panza double maduros off famoussmoke for 35 bucks, its a great smoke IMO, it was one of my first cigars so i know its good for a noob.

I second the Sancho Panza's. Very good. I have one on deck to smoke for my long drive after work. I smoked 2 in one day last week. I enjoy the Quixote size.

I also second the Famous Buenos Maduros. At .75 a piece, it's a surprisingly good smoke. I believe it's like $29.99 for 40 sticks.

Lots of good suggestions up there ^. I'm not to sure on the JR's. I've tried a couple and hated them. But I've heard there are some good ones, and I've heard the Ults are alot better.

Consuerga (Connie) #9... good small smoke and the price is right... I would get the Conn wrapper because guys who don't normally smoke might not enjoy a Maduro. I just picked up another bundle for myself from JR... Bundle of 25 for $26...

Lots of good suggestions here. I'd recommend getting at least two different kinds - one mild and one more medium. You want something pretty mild for your non-smoking friends and family, but something with a bit more body for those who want it. Connies would serve the second role well, but depending on the blend might be too strong for some of the total newbs.

thanks for all the suggestions, I really appreciate it. I will have to try some of the stuff listed. Even better is this gives me an excuse to buy more cigars. I wouldnt want to dissapoint any guests....

I plan on having two different types, for reasons already listed above. I am thinking that I may even purchase a box of something I really like for myself and those that are cigar smokers. Again thanks to all, I will start searching for some of the cigars listed and sample away.....

I agree, the FdO's are my inexpesive go to smokes. I prefer the maduro, but the corojo is good as well.

No one has mentioned Gran Habano's. They're a great inexpensive cigar and people who don't know any better would probably think they're from Cuba because of Habano in the name, but nope, 100% domestic.

ohhh...yeah, the Gran Habano's are tasty. Those little corojo #5's are tough to beat. I second the Cuban Crafters brown mini-figurados too. I like the St. Luis Rey maduro rothchildes for an inexpensive tasty smoke as well.

Again thanks for the examples. I'm glad I posted when I did. I haven't tried any of the cigars listed, but will have to order some sampler packs. I will give the Sancho Panza double maduro a taste, and will scan through some other suggestions. I like maduros myself so will probably like 'em.

Maybe Ill even find something I can smoke more often without spending 7-10 bucks a stick
