Default V / posh cutter blades?

Hey all, I was wondering about getting something a bit more posh than the pile of free cheap cutters I get with my Cigar orders everymonth and I hear a lot of buzz around v shaped blades. However they are (to me any way) quite expensive and I have experience of cheap cutter blades lasting approximately 4 cigars before they blunt

Do the blades in expensive cutters last longer? Are they changeable? What would you guys reccommend as a good cutter that will last and give good clean results for around about the £10-£15 range?

    Peace, Chubb.

Good quality blades willl last a long time, and in the case of Xikar cutters are guaranteed for life.

Take a look here Froogle, thye Adorini and Zinos are generally good.

Thanks for the link, I appreciate it. Still alittle pricy for my skinflint tastes but they are more reasonable.

Get a nice Avo bullet cutter. They last forever and are a great clean way to cut smaller cigars like a corona, or a larger cigar that you note draws too easily.

Would a punch create too small a hole for a Robusto?

Not necessarily. I find as long as the cigar isn't too tightly rolled then the punch works well, even on large toros. But if the cigar has a tight draw to it, then a blade butter is better because of more open area. Of course, if you use the punch and the draw sucks, it's not going to be a big deal if you then use a blade cutter on it.

I think you'd be best with Xikar. You can find deals that fall in your price range, namely ebay.

Buy a double blade guilotine (sp), has always been best IMHO
