Chris I think some of the wood is laminate and composite. They are lined in spanish cedar. Most of the Humis JR sells are made of composite and lined in cedar and laminated on the outside. You cant tell the difference and if you made a solid wood humi it would cost a lot of $$$$$.

I own a very high dollar 50 count humi( 500$) and I cannot tell any difference in the quality except it is solid wood and the gloss finish on my expensive one looks 1/2 in deep. They both(cheap&expensive) maintain perfect humidity

If you want a 1400$ Manning then you gotta cough up 1400$
