Default I know why they call them perfectos...

Typically, I have burn issues with my cigars, namely tunneling. I'm sure it's my inexperience as I can't imagine that 90% of the cigars I've smoked could have been rolled improperly. I'll knock the ash and it'll fall out leaving a concave depression with unburned wrapper all around it. It's the pits.

Anyway, Sunday I pulled out an AF Hemingway Short Story. Wow, perfect burn! Wrapper and filler stayed properly lit and it smoked wonderfully. This is what I've been missing.

Just wanted to put that out there. It was exciting to me, anyway.

That's cool...I find no matter how badly I botch the lighting of a Hemingway, it always fixes itself.

What is your humidity at? That is generally the cause of burn issues.

    Default 65%

I have a 65% Puck in a 100-ct humidor, about half full. My analog hygrometer typically shows somewhere in the neighborhood of 50% humidity but, well, it's an analog. I'll periodically feel the cigars and squeeze just a little so that I can make sure they aren't crackling. I know I need a digital, but I'm a cheap bastard.

pull out your hygrometer and do a salt test... search for it on the boards here. that way you will know how far off your hygrometer is and you'll better be able to keep an eye on it.
