I'll give you that all three of the standard mac's are nasty... I've tried just about all of them... the ones i like are the Vintage or gold lable...
BUT, on that note, i went to buy some of those suggested cigars today and i picked up a Baccarat and a Casa Torano... I smoked the Baccarat already, and at a 5th of the price i pay for those mac vintage, it was a better smoke. I also realized when i saw the Casa Torano that i had smoked one before; a friend of mine had given it to me some time ago and i like it alot too... So now, I'd still smoke a Mac Vintage if someone gave me one, but i couldn't very well justify spending the money for one when i could pick up Baccarat so cheap. Thanks for those suggestions and i'm now going to work my way through the rest of that list plus the ones in the linked forums.

If I find a good deal on them, I may give them a try again, I never tried any Mac's until today. I figured I needed to use the rule "try three before you make a decision", but I just wasn't going to go out of my way in the near future.

which one did you try? i smoked the Cafe once, which i guess is just the standard mac and i couldn't taste it at all.. i might as well have been smoking a tube of paper.

oh god, i hated the Maduro... i thought maybe i just got a bad one cuz it seemed kind of dry... maybe that one just sucked... I'd say if you want to honestly try a mac, try and get a Vintage... 2000 is the one i like. I think it taste good, not greatfor a $10-15 cigar, but smokeable... problem is, they DO cost $10-15...

Nope it wasn't just the one you had, mine was also very dry. I chalked it up to shipping/storage for the new B&M.
