Hi, this is my first post here, so I'm not sure if we're supposed to reply in this thread or just start a new one. Anyway on to the review.

I made a trip to our local smokeshop. The last time I was there, the best cigar they had was a RyJ 1875 Cedro Deluxe 2. This time, however, they must have gotten in a new shipment because they had a box of Playboy's, Monte #3's, some RP and quite a few other quality cigars. I would of rather gotten a Playboy but they were priced at $11. While this Monte was probably a little overpriced at $7.40, I figured it was a better value so I purchased it.

The construction was great. Smooth medium colored wrapper, smelled slightly like coffee. I cut the head with my V-cutter (don't ask) twice to form what ended up looking a lot like Monte's symbol. Toasted the foot, and then lit it up. It was a bit harsher than the RyJ off the bat, but after about .5" it smoothed out to a creamy flavor. About 1/3 to 1/2 thru the stick started tasting a little nutty and coffee-like. Around this time, it also picked up some spice and burned the nose pretty bad when I tried to blow the smoke out of my nose. This thing was awesome for french rolling though. In the last 1/2, the cigar got very coffee-and-cream-like and was quite delicous. Overall, I would say this was a much more complex cigar than the RyJ. I don't know if I would say I would buy it again though, as the RyJ at $5 is a better value. BTW, I keep comparing to the RyJ because this is only like the 3rd cigar I've smoked.

I just had my third Monte #3 tonight.(Not 3 in one night) I am pleased to say the least.
I think this is my first real review, so please bear with me.

Construction on all of these I have had is impeccable. They are quite solid to the touch, feeling firm, but not hard. It doesn't feel breakable, but not like a brick either, just perfect.

I cut with my double bladed guillotine, and pre-light draw was also excellent. Taste was not too spicy with the draw, and I did not get any specks of cut cap in my mouth, which is always a plus. Aroma is light.

Toasted the foot, and ready for the light.
First impressions were good. The taste was light, but sweet and smoke was aromatic. First hints were of creamy vanilla, followed shortly by light coffee-ness. The smoke built to a cedary spicy coffee flavor towards the end, but was still generally quite mild. Aroma remained a nice creamy vanilla the whole way through. Even when I was hit with a little more spice than I would like (I am most always a wimp when it comes to spicy flavor) the aroma remained an intoxicating sweetness.

The ash stuck for a good while, and I broke it off 4 times for the cigar, leaving the nub, and 4 solid pieces of ash.

I would recommend this smoke as one of the best mild flavored cigars for anyone to try. As a mild smoke with great construction, I would give it a 9/10.
