Thread: Humidor lid gap

    Default Humidor lid gap

Hello all, my first post here and a noob as well. I bought a humidor from Cuban Crafters a few weeks ago and have had it seasoning since then. Its holding steady @ 71+/-002 RH with a Western Caliber lll digital. The problem is I have a gap that will accept a business card along the backside of the humi. Like the hinges may be in a bind or something ? The front is sealed well and you can lift the lid fully open and "drop test" it and it seems to close with that "pillow" effect (doesn't slam) ! 2 questions, think its holding 71RH because of the fresh humidifier and a distilled water bowl I kept in it for the 1st 2weeks ? And/Or, should I return it and have peace of mind...? Thanks in advance, Dub's

Cuban Crafters is a reputable place. Call them or email their customer service dept. Discuss it with them then let them know what you want to do.

I would return it. I've dealt with Cuban Crafters with problems and they are very understanding and willing to do whatever it takes.

I just talked to CC about the gap, they thought if its still holding 71RH then it sounds ok but will send me some sealing tape they use for this purpose. I'm ok with that since its only a 50/75 ct and cost $25, and from what I read in here...it wont be my last humidor purchase.
