Gispert - Bad cigar?

I just finished my second Gispert, a robusto, intended on posting a review. The cigar started off ok, a mild/medium flavor. After a thrid though, I couldn't taste much of anything from it. The ash, I also noticed, was about half black. I just couldn't, or didn't have the patience to keep it up and let it die out. What I want to know is, did I have a bad stick or what? Anybody else have experience with a Gispert different from mine? I remebered also being bored by another Gispert (a Corona, I think) and tossed it 'bout half way. I love mild cigars, and have yet to waste any other sticks. I have a few more of these in the humi (which I frankly don't remember getting), and I am wondering if I should give it another go. I thank you for any comments.

(as a side note, I can't seem to relocate a topic, if I remember correctly, from this forum discripting cigar ash and it's relation to it's flavor. If anybody shoot me a pm with a link I'll be grateful.)

I regularly smoke the Gispert maduro's, and find them an enjoyable, consistent smoke for the money.

The Gispert's I have had or given to others have all been thoroughly enjoyed. It's a good mild smoke that is generally very smooth. It is light and really doesn't have a lot of flavor change to it making it for a not so exciting cigar but for something to just add a little to the occassion and not take center stage it is a great fit.

I'm another fan of Gisperts. Especially at the price. I have a couple in my humidor right now.

I don't smoke Gisperts any more. I've found the Gispert to be a very mild smoke, too mild for my tastes. The fact that they don't change much throughout the cigar makes it taste flavorless to me after a while. They always gave me a razor sharp burn, good draw and lots of smoke, but not much reason in the flavor dept to light one up. I wouldn't say they are a bad cigar, they just don't suit my taste. Sounds like you have experienced the same thing.

You can always put up the few you have left for a trade. There may be someone who would like to have them.

Edit: You could also keep it around for friends who don't smoke regularly but want to join you in a smoke some time. Never throw a cigar away unless it's beetle ridden or moldy. There is usually someone who whoud appreciate it.

Thanks Shelby, and eveyone else. I'm gonna chuck it up to "to each his own". I'll also take your advice and put it up on trade.
