    Default New Coolidor setup!!! (PICS)UPDATED

    Ok....

I have been bit by the devil site and have run out of room in my 5 humidors. I went to Waleyworld today and picked up this nice 100 Qt cooler for some much needed storage and aging room. I looked for the Oust fans but they did not have them. I grabbed a box of baking soda and some oasis "wet" foam. I then stopped by Walgreens to see if they carried the Oust fans. I looked and looked by the air freshners and could not find them. I asked one of the clerks and they said they had a few in the closeout section. There were 2 left. The Walgreens is sold out of them now. I went to the house, washed it out with a mild dish soap, rinsed, rinsed, and then I rinsed it out. dried it, and put a plate of baking soda to settle the plastic smell. I then grabbed the Oust fans and proceded to cut the front out of them. I believe they will work a bit better now. I have 1 lb of 65% beads which will go in there along with some oasis foam, and a nice Hydrometer/Temp unit. Here are a few pics. I will update once it is up and running with some sticks in there.

Do you feel air movement with the fans now. I taped up the opening on the front, and it improved, but still doesn't feel like it moving alot of air. Your idea might be better than mine.

You can't really feel the air move with any of these fans, but it is moving enough to help the distribution of humidity. I just unscrewed the front and took it off. The battery is exposed, but that doesn't really matter to me. I removed the front because I needed a lower profile, not necessarily to improve the airflow. The circuitry turns these fans on for 5 minutes 3 times an hour.

The fans must move a bit of air. I started with one fan in my box and then added a second. I found them on sale at a drug store chain up here in Canada for 3 bucks. Could not beat the deal, most places sell them for 7-8 bucks. Shoppers drug mart is the store name if there are any Canadians looking for an Oust fan.

A great thing about your coolidor are the wheels. You can tote it along to parties and stuff. I used to have on like that and i kept it all stocked with booze and ice and juice. I took it to parties and called it the martini wagon. Those were the days.

I am glad you asked. I forgot about the follow up pics. I will take some tonight and post them.

Here it is filled up, almost. I got the boxes from my friend who runs the local B&M. I will need more soon.
