Ditto, thats how its supposd to happen. Appologize and keep on Herfing.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown

I'm not real comfortable with this "show me pictures of your humidor so we can trade" schtick...

Nice to see someone not freak out and remove themselves. Great handling!

The pics of the humidor doesn't bug me too much. When I first started out here I loved seeing humi pics to see what all there was out there to try.

Also lets me see what they have to try and get a good sampler/trade for them...but then again that is just my opinion as a someone still but former newb.

Hey - if you wanna post pictures of your humi, have a ball. But if it's a hangup about "let me see what you got before we do a trade" thing - well - just kinda feels all yucky to me...

Yup... I have the same reservations. In fact, if someone asked me to do that I would politely step out of the deal.

It just doesn't feel right to me. If you want to browse, I think the local B&M is the appropriate place.

I think it is a good idea if you are trading with someone just so you don't get sticks you already have. I didnt want to send him this box of CAO's and have him send me something I already have. I asked him to post the pics just so I could see that someone had a selection of cigars I hadnt tried.

Blind trades are a different story, I guess.

Same here. I more than a few sticks that are special to me for whatever reason that I wouldn't consider trading. I don't have a problem posting a few pics of my humi once and a while and enjoy seeing others, I wouldn't want them to be involved in a trade.

If you want to know what they are going to send it's a simple matter of asking. Blind trades are just that... blind trades. Even so, there is nothing wrong with asking that certain cigars be excluded.

    It just seem so... "tacky."

I do see you guys' points. However keep in mind that if there are certain sticks that I wil not trade and someone requests them I will politely let them know they are untradeable to me.

Most people will understand because we all have our "special" stash or super rare special occasion sticks. If someone doesn't understand that, then they either need to be educated. If they still don't understand then yes a trade would be off.

Just so everyone knows he has not even requested a single stick that he has "seen" on my pictures. We talked about what he likes, he sent me a list of his faves or want to try sticks. Not a single one of them was something visible(except for maybe one) in the picture.

"Why can't we all just get along"

5 pack sampler to whoever gives me where that quote came from(who said it). First PM in my box wins. 50 post min(sorry super newbs)

Woah!! We are all getting along. I am not angry about anything, and I don't believe anyone else was. I was just stating what my own reaction would be in the situation.

I guess I have a bit of a different persepctive on this... There are cigars I've gotten I really don't care for (for whatever reason) - but noone would ever know it. I don't want them to know it. I want them to send me whatever it is they will send me - and I always want them to know I appreciate what's been sent to me. I don't want anyone to ever feel like they have to raid their "special" stash to make me happy. Smoking a great cigar (from el cheapo to OMG pricey) is "special" to me.

I understand the enthusiasm and wanting to try different cigars to a point - but my parents taught me to never look a gift horse in the mouth. wing - I'm sure you haven't sampled that many cigars that someone would be sending you duplicates at this point...

Forget "can we all get along" - my mantra is "Luke - trust the force..." wing - build up a reputation for yourself. Make some purchases - do some blind trades. Let the people in this community get to know you. Look - I don't want to tell you how to play the game - JUST PLAY NICE!

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...Ejecting asshats must be done. There is a difference is some one making a mistake and being an asshat.

Asshats usually shout at the top of their lungs "I'm an asshat...What are you gonna do about it"?

Read some old posts and the difference will become clear.

BTW - Just about every package I receive has duplicate cigars - but sometimes I really like getting duplicates (i.e. Opus X, Anejo's, RASS's, VR Famoso's, etc.)

We do like and respect good members - we don't like or respect asshats. That's the difference for me.

    Does that clear it up?

I agree with most. I've gotten cigars that I know are to me. But the person that sent them to me thinks they are awesome. I look back on my first bomb and think, did I really send that??? I'm never going to say to anyone that took the time to package a bomb go to the Post Office and send it that "your selection sucks!"

If someone wants to make sure they don't get duplicate cigars, they should just tell the person they are doing the trading with. For many of us, we just ask the trader what do they like. What is their goto cigar. That gives you an idea of what to send them.

    Well, that just my opinion.
