Thread: How old is too old...

  1. Default How old is too old...

    Hi,

I have read a lot about ageing cigars. For example I have heard quite a lot about the new Cohiba Sublimes which will apparently become even more sublime with age. My question is....how long can you/should you keep a cigar to help it attain its full potential?

I know a bit a bout wine and assume that it may depend on the quality of the cigar? Will a Cohiba sublimes (just salivating at the name!!!! ) keep longer than a cheaper make? Like a fine bordeaux from a great year will keep longer than a cheap Cote du Rhone?

Finally, is there a time limit? Providing a cigar is kept in optimum conditions, can it keep in there (and improve?) for years?

    Thanks!

I hear some cigars don't age very well(some DOM REP for instance). But I have also read that a well stored cigar can last indefinitly. There are still some pre WWII and pre Castro cigars roaming around I think after a certain point you won't see an improvment anymore, but it depends on the cigar how long that point is

Did you perhaps mean "INDEFINITELY" instead of indefinitly, Roham?

How about "IMPROVEMENT" instead of improvment...

Did you want me to go through your posts and look for any others as long as we're being VERY precise???
