Damn...That's one nasty disease. Sorry to hear about it.
That's awful. Lou Gehrig's took my grandmother. She came to live with my parents for the last couple of years. You could barely understand her when she spoke her muscle control was so bad. It's a wasting disease, it effecting everything. The worst was when it started to effect her ability to swallow. She would choke all the time. It was pretty scary.
I'm sorry to hear about your friend Sid. Truly sorry.

I lost a very dear friend to Lou Gehrig's disease. I was there when he first realized something was wrong (showed me the tics he was getting). And I was there when he breathed his last breath. It was an incredibly short time.
Truly a tragic and incredibly senseless disease....
My thoughts and prayers are with your friend.
Damn, Sid. Thats terrible. My thoughts and prays for him/his family and you.
The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done." -unknown
