    Default First Real Cigar

I started with some unnamed, supposedly "cuban seeded" gas station cigar. I had some phillies and swishers, but then I stopped at a nice little cigar shop in downtown Gettysburg, PA, where I got my first real cigars.

My first ever, CAO Criollo Mancha.

It was a little too strong and earthy for me then, and I spend another half hour laying on the sofa recovering, but still have good memories of it.

    Anyone else, first real cigar?
When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
    When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

After years of smoking Captain blacks and colts my friend came back from Cuba with a box of RyJ no. 3. They were great.

Smoked a Montesino with my Uncle to celebrate my cousin being born, that was 5 years ago. I really started getting into it about 2 years ago though, my friend and I would take a cheap cigarlike a Robusto Reject or something to the golf course so I ordered a sampler with a travel Humi and 10 cigars or so. We ended up smoking a La Gloria Cubana Serie R that came with the pack and I haven't really looked back since.

Went through the swisher thing back in college, when drinking to excess, but years later, when I decided I wanted to try cigars for real, I picked up a holiday sampler of various sticks at a Tinder Box and a holiday 4 pack of Padron 2000 Maduros. 2000 Maddies are still a favorite of mine.

I had a Muniemaker from 7-11 on the eve of my 20th birthday. It wasn't great - hell, it wasn't even good - and I'm sure the box had been sitting there under the counter drying up for years.

My first real stick was a Macanudo Gold Label, at the suggestion of the manager at my local B&M. Nothing special, but it gave me the courage to try something stronger the next day. And now here I am.

Actually I think my first real cigar was a ISOM in Canada last summer. Wasn't a cigar smoker then, so I have no idea what it was, but I remember liking it. First cigar whose name I remember and liked is Onyx Reserve.

Hemingway Classic. Charlie at the B&M here in Chattanooga suggested I try one. It was an ass-kick of a cigar! I liked it though. Never had I felt a relaxed nausea before. Never looked back.

Don Diego. Hated it. But for some reason I kept on trucking.

    Good thing.

Either a CAO L'anniversarie Cameroon or a Chavon, don't remember which.

First one I bought for myself was a Partagas Spanish Rosado Ramon y Ramon.

my first handrolled stick was an unbanded bundled cigar that came with my humidor from cubancrafters... the only thing i know about the stick is that it said "hecho en mexico" on the bundle, i couldn't wait for it to stabilize in my humi so i smoked it when it was very dry... not a good experience but it was enough to get me hooked

First thing I ever smoked was a sweet-dipped purito (cigarillo-like hand-rolled) that I cut too deeply and the draw was a bit hot, but the sweetness covered up my mistake. Second was a plantation reserve panatela from New Orleans Cigar Factory that I enjoyed emensely, but only smoked it about halfway down because I was getting light-headed and because it was getting bitter

I don't remember my first good cigar, but I think the first cigar I had was a Macanudo Hampton Court on the golf course. But recently I have gotten very much into cigars and recently purchased my first humidor. I hope you take it and run with it!
