Actually, the AVS started looking pretty sorry while back. I had no confidence that they would make the playoffs even when they started their run. They just didn't look like a Stanley Cup team this year.
But we just signed Sakic for another year... probably his last. That might make a difference in the team's determination next year.
Oh, and Wingfan: no disrespect intended, but

I have to admit I am hardly a sports fan at all.
However, I did light off some nice fireworks last time the Wings won the Stanley Cup.
