Back to the topic, cheap booze, I also like Seagram's 7 as an in expense whiskey. Easy to sip on the rocks and I like the taste more than Canadian blends.
Although I prefer a single malt scotch, I seem to put much more of a dent into the expense single malt than I do the S7.
Also, Sailor Jerry spiced rum is great. It was 9 bucks a bottle but recently went up to about a dollar over captains. But this stuff is 94 proof whereas captains is 70. So it has a nicer bite, same spice and less "sweetness" which I like a lot. Captains, is too sweet for me.
So while it is not cheaper than Captains, you will get a few extra drinks out of it due to the higher alcohol content, so I think it is still a deal.
