Another RASCC. This box is nearing 3 years old and they are getting really good. It's going to be tough to not finish it off this fall.

Great flavor in others, but you have to earn it with the tight draws.

I've noticed a tight draw on several smokes lately. Too tight. I'm smoking this Cohiba Black right now and it too has a restrictive draw. It's doable, although not optimal IMHO. Compared to the LGC Corona I had earlier which had a great draw.

    AF Exquisito Maddy

    Yummy.

Light years ahead of the Cohiba Black Pequenos I had last night.

Rocky Patel Ocean Club (Holt's RP house cigar).

Been smoking stronger cigars lately, so I thought I'd switch off to something that looked lighter for a change.

Not a bad cigar. Nothing bad to speak of. Looked nice, burned nice, no bad flavors. There were decent flavors typical of a mild Dominican (Though the binder is Mexican, the wrapper is Nic, and the filler is Dom/Nic mix), and no bitterness at all, but the flavors were very subtle. It was a very mild smoke and thus kind of ho-hum. Descriptions label this cigar as medium, but I have no clue what they were smoking. The cigar I smoked was well into the mild range IMHO. Probably a decent choice for morning coffee or some other light morning beverage, a walk, or yard/garden work, but definitely not a memorable smoke.

My second AF Exquisito Maduro. First was last night. Real good smoke. I may have to box up on these. I burnt my fingers last night and headed that way again. Dayam.

The pre-light sniff is barnyard no doubt.

I will be reviewing this on the third smoke tomorrow. For now, a few more notes here:

Dominant flavors for me at this point are sweet Maduro mixed with leather and strong smooth tobacco. Pleasant pepper throughout.

Perfect burn, great construction and a lot of smoke for a small stogie. Worthy of a home in my humidor.
