If I did not have my heart set on smoking a Toboada, it woulda been sacrificed to the flame... Perhaps next time...
Smoking in Illinois during the winter just plain sucks. There's so few places around that allow smoking, and it's 0 or below these days (not good for firing up outdoors). Can't wait for the warm weather to come rolling in...
I just did an inventory, and I don't need more cigars :-).
I will see if people are interested in a pass instead.
Casa Fuente ~ Churchill (I'm pretty sure)
Thanks KB!

Celebrating my special needs neices birthday. She is so very important to me and has made me see people much more differently when they are different. She loves everyone she meets unconditionally. Love you Ahnika Shaye.

Undercrown. This was my first taste of this cigar. (That's what I get for staying away from cigar smoking professionals...I am way behind the times).
This was an eventful strong cigar (it seemed more full-bodied than I expected). I really enjoyed it, but it might have been more cigar than I'm ready to handle, if that's possible. I need to get some of these in my humidor and age them a couple of years because there was a lot going on and I need to smoke several more to appreciate all they have to offer. I like cigars that I have to "explore" like this one.
Many thanks to my contributor on this one!
Thank you TGT.
San Cristobal Clasico Robusto....very nice smoke. Much better to me than the Elegancia.

JLP Cazadores - getting better.
MC #4 - this one was what it should be. A weird box. The ring gauge is a little narrow, though, so I am going to cut the bands and freeze the cigars 'just in case.'
Ortega Serie D #12 - I like these DPG's.
AF Cubanito. Tastes like chicken.
edit: last couple puffs taste like teriyaki chicken. noice flava!

I have had beetles before. Once bitten twice shy.
In any case, I didn't freeze them, I put them in a couple of Mason Jars iinstead
Getting a beetle infestation will make a cigar smoker OC - it's a given. But all you gotta do is stick them cigars - mason jar and all - outside during the "polar vortex" and those little cuban hitchhikers will succumb...
And if your MC ring gauge seems a bit thin - I'd be worried about the source as well. Not that they would be beetle infested (it happens to the best), but confidence I was getting the real deal.
Momma and I did a little "getaway" to our local shop. We were expecting to fire up a couple of nice corona's, but instead had to settle for a Davidoff Grand Cru #5 (we find out when we get there the shop is closing in 30 minutes). What a GREAT little cigar - I highly recommend it.
Coincidentally, I was talking to my step - brother over the weekend, and he was bemoaning the leaf quality of various years - he has had big stems (runners) in three of his 2010 's (different brands).
The box was from a recognized grey-market source and was before the current box seals, but also when there were the arrests at Habanos S. A. about grey-market cigars. My other smokes from that source were fine (and have been smoked).
