    Default Hygrometer and Humidifier Attachment

So . . . I have a couple humidors and all seems to be well. There are, however, a couple problems that I have experienced that I thought I may be able to get answers to here in this forum.

First, the large rectangle humidifier in my larger humidor kept falling off the lid. The magnets were fine, rather it was the double-sided adhesive tape that failed - most likely due to the humidity in theere . . . go figure :whistling: Now, in my smaller humi the hygrometer is having the same problems - the double-sided adhesive is failing.

Of course I know I can place the humidifier anywhere in the humi, in fact I am now using Humi-Care gell in the larger humidor and a ClimaGuard stick in the smaller one and they seem to be holding the humidity well and are more constant. However, I still have the problem with the hygrometer in the smaller humidor.

Any ideas for re-attaching the humidifier and hygrometer? Or do I just have to keep replacing the double-sided tape?

I have two humidifiers going in one of my humidors. The double sided tape on one of them failed for me too. I used copious amounts of crazy glue to hold the metal plate to the humidifier. I let it air out for a day and I threw it in. I haven't noticed any smell at all and it hasn't fallen off again either.

Get double-sided tape of another brand-perhaps that's it? If worse comes to worse, stow the stogies elsewhere and crazyglue the SOB. After that, you should be set for the most part.

Same thing happened to me as well. I ended up going to the craft section at
Walmart and bought some Velcro tape and cut it so it would fit in on both sides. Then I used super glue on the sticky sides to help make sure that it stayed stuck.

Does that help it stick to the wood as well? Do you need to leave your cigars out of the humi for a while afterward and if so how long?

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys.

I think it would work on the wood as well. I never tried that. But crazy glue airs pretty quick I think. I left my humidifier out for an hour or two to dry then I threw it back in. I couldn't really smell it by that time.
