Default Humidor and Temperature - Please guys help :)

First, hello everyone, im glad to find this forum.

I have this huge problem. I live in a hot country(Israel). The temperature in apartment most of the time is above 80 F (26C). In the summer its about 80-85, even in the closet! I dont have basement and im not able to cool all the apartment or just some room.

I need a solution for that(besides refrigerator). I need somehow to cool down my humidor.
please give me (if you can) all the solutions that you know!

    Thanks....
    Alex

If you can't cool the ambient temp and refrigeration is out then I don't know what you can do. You might try boxing all your cigars and placing the boxes in a cooler with some of those gel ice packs, but that will probably cause condensation a nd you might have to continually rotate a couple of packs. 80-85 degress occasionallywon't be too bad, but constant high temps make you very susceptable to beetles. The only other thing I can think of is rent a locker at your local cigar store (if they have them) and just keep a small stash at your apartment.

    Good luck!

I just read about another individual who was in a similar scenario who used frozen bottles of water. He opted not to put them in the box/cooler with the cigars as the condensation caused issues. He instead put them under the storage container.

Invest in a Wine Cooler. It will regulate your temperature between 60-70 degrees efficiently. $100-$200 is well worth the investment if your room temperature is normally 80-90 degrees. PLUS, there are different sizes, so you can get a small one and it'll do the job. Good luck.

Yep, that was going to be my recommendation as well. This thread over at cigar pass as some nice pictures and an explanation about how someone converted a wine cooler into a frigidor:
