Default I haven't had a decent smoke in about 5 weeks

Ran out of DK's a month and a half ago, tried to order some but found they were sold out. You all remember my last couple posts right? Then my scramble to trade of my remaining Sancho Panza's. Anyhow, I ended up waiting 4 days before my cravings really kicked in and I began to dig into my stash of Panza's. Halfway decent smoke once you smoke it half way down and let the tar build up, but overall a 6 in my book. The damn things never failed to unravel at the smoking end after the cut.

Eventually ran out of Panza's to smoke, then dug into my stash of leftovers from some trades a few months back with CgrDan and Kevin7 I believe. I believe I asked for some full bodied smokes, but I realized that most of my samplers were mild-medium, at least compared to The Browns. There were some class smokes in there; CAO Brazzy, Joya de Nicaragua (which I was very much looking forward to toking up, but it ended up busting open due to humidity), Macanudo, etc. but they all just emphasized how outstanding the DK's are.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I did the trade and had to wade through all the crap sticks, each time hoping to enter the 7th circle of cigar nirvana, but only to now understand that I don't like any other sticks (for the most part, the Punch cigars were class and I'd buy a box in a heartbeat) other than Browns.

So in the end, I just sat there, took it like a man and sucked it up. Stopped smoking for the past month or so. Last week I tried again to order from Cubancrafters, but their site informed me that they were out of stock. I then called the 877 number and spoke with Alejandro. I asked him if he had any DK Browns in stock, and after a long drawn out processing time he replied with, "We have a few left." *If ever I had what could be compared to an out of body experience it was upon hearing those words*

I ordered 4 bundles (there were no boxes left, only a couple of bundles, doesn't matter to me and I get 15% off the purchase, I win) and called it a day. Now I sit here in record heat (pushing upwards of 114 degrees in the shade in certain parts of Los Angeles) with my glass of 1/3 soju, 2/3's apple cider (bubbly type), and filled to the brim with ice, and crave for a cigar that will make my head swim and my toes tingle.

I know that when the bundles come in they will have to sit in the humi for a good two weeks at least, but I am content that one week from now I will be able to enjoy a decent cigar (I have learned that if I put the bulk of the sticks in my humi, then put three or so sticks in a small container with a napkin of distilled water that they will hydrate fully within 3 days although they will be a bit wet, yet if they are then left in the open air for two hours they are nearly indistinguishable from a 3 month stint in a well kept humi).

I will be able to partake in one of the great vices we as humans have the option of indulging in, yet most often choose not. Long live tobacco, long live Don Kiki.

Bought some Don Kiki Brown Labels from cubancrafters a week back. They'll be sitting in my humi for awhile and are sure to be a hell of a smoke.
