Thread: CAO Gold Robusto

    Default CAO Gold Robusto

let me preface this by saying i am fairly new to cigar smoking. thus i have come to the conclusion that some other new guys to the site may be able to take something away from this review.

i started cigar smoking like any other guy. my interest is in mild to medium bodied cigars. i got in on the newbie sampler here and encourage all new people to get in on the same. i still love trying new and different cigars. but, lately i have found my go to cigar for after long nights out on the town or the golf course.

i have smoked between 15-20 of these cigars so i feel i have a good idea of the general quality of production since none have been from a single box. price runs at my B&M at $3.95

I have found construction to be outstanding. whether box pressed or simply out of round and oval on the end all have burned fabulously. i have yet to touch one up with the lighter. simply rotating the slowest burning spot to the bottom of the smoke has made all burn perfectly.

i believe the robusto, has become my favorite size of cigar because of this model. the draw has been absolutely beautiful on every cigar and i love the amount of smoke. the cigar has a nice mild flavor, and it is just perfect to calm you down nicely without overpowering us new guys.

this is one of the few cigars that i will slide the band back so i can keep smoking. mind you, from my experience they do get bitter once or twice per cigar but if you purge it, it comes back perfectly.

with my few months of experiece this cigar has been fantastic and i urge other new guys to give it a shot, as well as a laundry list of all the others

i would love to hear what other new guys as well as the more experienced among us have thought about this particular cigar.

    Nice review!

The CAO Gold is one of the few mild cigars that I like. I prefer the Corona Gorda size (6.5x50).

    Cheers!

The CAO Gold is a real good cigar. Try the Gold Maduro, to add a bit flavor wise. It's the same cigar, but with a Maduro wrapper.

Both go great with a nice cup of coffee!
