    Default newb question about "draw"

ok, since starting cigar smoking a few months ago i have taken a liking to the robusto size cigar. recently i purchased a box of 5 vegas gold nuggets which as i am sure you all know is a smaller ring gauge as well as a shorter cigar compared to the robusto.

one thing i have noticed after smoking about half the box of nuggets and returning to the robustos is that what i thought was a great "feeling" draw throughout the robusto has changed slightly. now i have noticed that about the first half of the robusto is a little tight and doesnt produce as much smoke as i would like, especially compared to the nuggets.

now, logic tells me that this should be normal because of the length of the cigar and that logically as the cigar is smoked and gets shorter the draw length also gets shorter and thus, should become easier as smoked.

i guess after realizing this i have come to question if this is normal or if the robusto cigars i have ust need more humi time to get a more consistent draw from beginning to end.

any info or experiences are/is appreciated. thanks.

What I've found, once you go to a smaller ring guage you don't go back to the larger ones. I prefer corona sized and smaller. As far as draw, aging won't help much, some are just plugged. You can try taking it out of your humidor for a few days to dry it out a bit and it will help somewhat with tight cigars. Aging will help consistency, so that the entire cigar is at the same relative humidity, and not so that the inside of the cigar is more moist than the outside.
