    Default Not Worth the Hype

Smoked a CAO “The Sopranos” Edition today. Great Stick but all I can say is…Not worth the hype. Also definitely not worth the over $150 to $200 bucks a box!!! Now don’t get me wrong, this was a very enjoyable smoke. It let well and burned even from start to finish. The smoke that was a produced was a THICK creamy white and the bouquet was also very enjoyable. I was able to get a lot of length off the ash before having to tap it off the first time. The taste was very complex but not harsh. Every draw was a different taste. Spicy with hints of cherry and chocolate (I know it sounds stupid but those are the only words that come to mind) this cigar was over an hour of pure joy. Several people around me wanted to know what I was smoking. When I told them it was a CAO Soprano they were like, “Wow we heard of those! You must have some money to be able to afford those” I told them to calm down because I just bought two of them($25 by the way) So what’s my point? My point is that this is a GREAT smoke but not worth the hype and not worth the $200 you will have to shell out to get a box of your own.

So any BOTLs out there that have tried these sticks? Let me know if I’m crazy or if I’m on the money with my opinion.

I've only had one. I agree with you. Really good smoke, but for that price I'll pick up a PAM.
Keep in mind, a percentage of that price goes towards just the name 'Sopranos'. You think HBO would just give that away?

Yeah i'd definately agree with this. i had one earlier this summer and loved it but it definately wasn't worth what i paid. chris is right though, most of what you pay for is the name sopranos on the band. other than that it'd probably be in the same range as the brazilia or italia.

When they first came out my B&M really pushed them. You know the buy five and get a free hat deal. Well I have two hats, and the tenth cigar is sitting in my stash humidor still.
Yes I thought it a good cigar, but worth the price? I guess it depends on how you rate a cigar. Am I going to buy a $12 Soprano or a $10 Ashton Aged Maduro?
A lot of cigars sell on hype, the owner of my B&M could not hold his excitement over the CAO Visions, I tried a few, I will take and Exile any day. The same with Tatuaje, he thought they were the best cigar on the market and carries ten faces on his limited shelves, I have tried them all and will smoke just about anything else instead. But cigars like everything else is a matter of taste.
