    Default It’s cold out…What do I smoke?!

A cold rainy snap came through the San Francisco Bay area this week and it got me thinking... I find myself reaching for certain kinds of sticks depending on the weather. I wanted to see if my fellow BOTLs felt the same way.

Depending on the sessions, do you smoke or reach for a certain kind of stick? In the summer I find myself going for the Full bodied stuff…The Stuff I REALLY enjoy. When winter and fall hit, I find myself going for the mellow stuff. On COLD days when walking the dog I find myself smoking Candelas. (I know a lot of guys here hate em so stop laughing at me) Nice mellow smoke for cold days. Camacho makes a really nice candela wrap that I really like.

Just wanted to see what the rest of the family thinks about this topic. Thoughts?

When it's cold or I just need a quick smoke, I reach for a madurito and a cup of coffee.

For a milder short cigar, I like the RyJ Reserve Maduro #4, again with coffee.

I'll second WOXOF on both counts and add in the Punch London Club......you'll soon get to try one of those MM.

Cold = short smoke. I like the madurito's and their natural brothers.

JdN Cel. consul is a nice choice.

Really any PC or short robusto will work fine.

I bust out my big cigars when it's cold in Cigar City.

The summer months I go for the short smokes cause it's so f'n hot outside.

I am the opposite of most of you guys.

Yup, only weather difference for me is putting in some extra whiskey/rum/whatever to keep me warm

Same as Guado here. Its finally cooling down enough to where I can sit comfortably outside for a couple of hours. Highs in the mid 80s, lows in the high 60s.

That's what our (Maryland) end of summer/fall was like. now it's in the 40-50s.

Starting to get cold here too. I like the MC clubs, villiger export (small square, dry cured cigar) for when it gets really cold.

You poor frozen bastids! It's mid 70's to low 80's down here. I'm out on the patio all day chain smoking presidentes...

Anyone tried the CAO Mx2 dagger? Seems like a good fit for cold weather. (I see pub spears reviewed it earlier this month. I can't locate them locally, but it would be nice to pick up a tin or two in case we get a cold front and temps plunge into the 60's. Brrrr.)
