Although I don't live in Phoenix, I've been there several times and would like to recommend a few places within the PHX area. In Scottsdale, there's a place call Fat Buddha that's been getting a lot of attention recently. Might be a good place to check out. There are also two others in the Chandler/Gilbert area. The one in Chandler is called Matchstixx while the one in Chandler is called Stogie Cutters. Both places are pretty nice and worth checking out. Also, there's a tinderbox in Awatukee that has a huge selection of cigars at a very reasonable price......not much of a lounge though. There is a private club in the store but membership is a few hundred dollars a year. Well, that's it from me but let me know what you think of these places if you get a chance. Also, if you find any other places, I would love to hear about them. Thanks.

It's AZ and warm year round, so I'm wondering if the smoking ban affects outdoor parts of bars/restaurants?

Contrary to popular belief, it does get kinda cold in Phoenix. But "cold" is relative to each individual, as our brethren to the east can surely attest to. Having lived in AZ for several years (prior to the smoking ban), I'd have to say that most establishments are inclined to dealing with hot weather as opposed to cold..............i.e. covered patio/bars with misting coolers. So I don't think that it's the heat that affects business as much as colder weather does . Go figure.

As long as the "smoking area" has it's own door separate from the public exits than no effect is felt. Though some establishments that serve food outside have banned cigar smoking such as the Yard House.

Whoah! I can't wait to visit my Dad in Peoria this year. We're going to have a heck of a cigar-filled week.

Well if you're going to be in Peoria then stop by Shades of Havana. Those Irish boys will treat you right. And let me know and I might join you.
