Been there, done that. I got confused by a Royal Brigade won afternoon and lit the damn thing the wrong end. I'm not sure if that caused the burn issue or if it was just the fact it was a Gurkha...
It was tasty though.

I've had wrapper problems with other Gurkha's. In my experience this seems to be chronic with them, they either start unraveling or they split.
spiffy
Yeah, I had the same confusion with a Gurkah Centurion. However, I didn't have the same experience with the burn or wrapper problem. Tasted like crap though.
I suppose I accidentally lit the correct end. Sorry about the crappy photo.

If you light the wrong end they will become loose.
The art of telling which end to light. Some hints.
1: Not all perfecto's are sealed on both ends. If you have to clip one end then that's the head.
2. If Both are sealed look to see if a cap been added. Then got 4.
3. : If both are open then the smaller of the two is head. Most times.
4. Look also at the shape. The fat end is toward the foot. Most heads are torp shaped and fatter at the foot.
5. If everything looks the same go with the Label.
6. If the above doesn't work then send them to me and start smoking other vitolas!

My motto is : Friends don't let friends smoke Ghurkas". Never had one I liked, and I'm always hearing people bitch about the ones they do buy in my area.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.
