    Default Lighting in the wind?

Any tips for lighting in the wind?

The past few cigars Ive had this week at work, there was a slight wind while I was lighting. Some how I think I ended up torching the cigar a bit too much as they have kinda had a burnt taste to them.

    Im using a torch btw.

What works for me is, first, turn your back to the wind to shelter the flams.

Second, make sure you have a good strong double or triple torch for windy moments.

Third, keep the flame a good distance from the cigar when you light it, then move the flame to the cigar to avoid scorching. It doesn't take a lot of heat to light a cigar if you are patient so avoid the temptation to move the flame too close or you will scorch it.

Finally, it helps if you puff on it while you apply the flame to the foot.
There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.

IMHO, wind ruins a good cigar. It causes the cigar to burn hot and uneven. It also blows away the smoke from your face. The aroma of the smoke that encircles your head is my favorite part of the smoking experience.

If I waited for no wind....I'd never smoke a cigar. Nebraska blows and Oklahoma sucks....so its always windy in Kansas.

I don't let a stiff wind ruin my cigar. I can ususally find a cubbyhole that is fairly protected, and too add to that, I use my body to block a good deal of the wind. But as you said, if you let the wind hit your cigar, it will ruin it.

Try living at the beach. The whole ritual goes out the window.

  9. Default Rolling...

Be sure to gently roll your cigar as you are lighting it in addition to bringing the flame
to your cigar and taking puffs at the same time.
