Diamond Crown Lexington Humidor???

I am really interested in purchasing this humidor but I have not come across anyone with experience with it to let me know if it is good or not. Can anyone chime in on this one? I like this one because it looks nice and Diamond Crown has had a good reputation from what I hear with quality and looks.

Also, I live in Pennsylvania where the humidity can be really low as well as really high. Is using beads the best way to go about regulating the internal RH for the humidity?

Also, how many beads would I need to consistently/effectively regulate this particular humidor I am looking at? I know beads can dispense humidity as well as suck in humidity. I have 65% heartfelt in my old humidor but could never quite get the hang of how much distilled water to put in and how often to do so.

The seals and construction on these DC humidors is not very good. The DC are more like a box NOT a humidor in my experience. Here in the store I carry Daniel Marshall, ST Dupont and Elie Bleu. The Daniel Marshall can easily age / keep your cigars just as well as the other 2 at fraction of the price. Also....try Humidipacks, in your current. They work GREAT! Good luck.

I have heard that Daniel Marshall humidors as well as the ST Dupont and Elie Bleu humidors are very good for consistent long-term use. I want to have something that is going to work for years to come...

My problem is that I really don't want to spend more than $250 to $300 on a humidor. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

To me that price seems a bit steep for a 120 ct (that size is based on coronas as well so make sure you buy bigger than you think). Especially considering it is rather plain looking and is a "cherry finish" which makes me think veneer. Not a problem in my book but definitely not worth the $225 price tag.

For your price range you could get a small end table humidor which will hold 300-400.

If it were me, I'd spend less on the humi and more on the smokes.

As far as beads go, they work great anywhere. Go to the heartfelt website and they have a calculator which will tell you how much you need, then you buy a little more. Once you get the humidor seasoned and filled up, the external humidity won't matter too much unless you leave it open all the time.

Check out TampaHumidor and a few other websites, for the $300 you can get a nice humi plus some cigars to go in there.

Re-read the post you quoted...."Check out TampaHumidor". I haven't heard a negative comment about any of their line of humidors, and a close friend of mine loves his...or if you like you can send your money to me and I'd be happy to make your purchases for you.

I don't have a desktop humi from there but I do have a large 50ct travel humi from them. Plus I haven't heard a bad thing about them. You can also get a nice supply of cigars at the same time I don't think I've ever made a cigar related purchase without also getting a few smokes with it.
