Default La Flor Dominicana ~ Chiselito

Other's reviews (to be searched later)

Smoke: La Flor Dominicana ~ Chiselito
    Drink(s): Yuengling Porter
    Tunes: Boot Liquor Radio

    Wrapper: Ecuador Maduro
    Draw: Medium throughout
    Burn: Good
Misc: 60+ minutes Nose exhale exhibits medium to full burn.

Pre-light: Dark / almost oscuro. Oily sheen, little bubbly texture on wrapper. "Chisel" tip. Beauty. Sweet scent. A little burny on pre light taste on tongue & lips. I apologize for the blurry pic.

Light: Easy light. Strong flavors right after cut (unlight). I've had several of these sofar "Its a spicy meatball!"

1st 3rd: Spices. Oily. Kinda smothers tongue. Leaves a slight burn on back of throat, like if you accidentally swallow a little chew (none of this is a bad thing). Oil, leather, smoke flavor. There's something floral too. Full body / flavor

Ash: Bent burn. Dense. Mottled & layered good. Funky how wrapper "lightens" in color around the burn cone.

2nd 3rd: Advances with similar profile to a creamy mix along with some woodsy & nutty accents. I understand you have to "sip" these to get the full range of flavor.

3rd 3rd: Definite full body, full flavor. Same profile as 2nd 3rd. Yummy. Starting to leave a fuzzy / chalky sensation on tongue.

Overall impression: My only compliant would be a relatively short duration. I want more... Maybe I'll try the regular Chisel size next...

I really like LFD's. Will have to start looking for some of these. Thanks for the review.

Nice review. The LFD chisel is an appealing cigar in many ways. It looks so nice that you almost don’t want to smoke it… almost…

As far as duration, I'm lucky if I can find 60+ minutes to enjoy a good cigar.
Were you able to pin down the floral essence in the first third? I can’t put my finger on it.

Yes, it was in the first third. I might be using the wrong term to describe it too. Floral was the best word to describe it. It wasn't super strong, or maybe I was imagining it too. When I burn another one some time, I'll edit a follow up.

    Thanks

I also enjoyed this cigar. And I also noticed the discoloration in the wrapper near the burn point. It really makes me wonder if these cigars are dipped in something at some point to add flavor. Whatever it is, its good. Thanks for the review.
