That strikes me as a pretty good start. Keep in mind, I've only been smoking cigars for about 3 yr's myself so the "new penny" shine is just starting to come off me.
I'd say check into humidity beads to use in your humi is they can negate the need for a hygrometer. Speaking of hygrometers, don 't rely on the analog one that came in your humidor. If it's like the few I've had, they suck big time. As I said, beads can make a hygrometer unnecessary but if you want one, spend a few bucks and get a digital.
