smoke what you like. If you into the Maduros try a sancho panza double maduro. Smooth, sweet and tasty.
i concur- sancho panza double maduros will be my first box as a self gift for christmas this year
nothing "onyx" excites me....an average maduro,at best...
try the camacho maduro
trilogy maduro
la aurora maduro (mmmmmm)
leon jimenes maduro........all of these, light years ahead of an onyx...
Would like to give a big THANK YOU to nhcigarfan for recommending the Sancho Panza Double Maduro. I had the MM Quixote, and it was freakin amazing! Was just chilling outside the patio finishing half a bottle of Chardonnay and a lovely Sancho Panza MM Quixote. I enjoyed the cigar so much, I burned my tongue because I smoked it until nothing but ashes remained.
Draw was smooth, a lot of smoke, and it smelled wonderful. WOULD highly recommend to any Maduro Lover. Will try BPPs recommendations soon. YUM!

I havent triied what BigpoppaPuff has suggested but I have been smoking the Onyx Reserve # 4 for years. I haven't triied anything else in the Onyx reserve line but the # 4's are excellant. Let them sit in your humi for a bit and IMO your going to have a wonderful smoke especially for the price.
A girl phoned me the other day and said ... Come on over, there's nobody home. I went over. Nobody was home.

The #4s are amoung the best of maduros to me. They are a notch above RyJ reserve maduro, and for the price amazing.
I thought the Onyx was one of the best I've had, but man once I tried the Sancho Panza MM, which is almost the same price, give or take an extra buck, it blew past the Onyx. And that was the first recommendation in this thread....so, just think what BPP recommended would taste like. Onyx is alright, but just wait until you try the higher end Maduros out there. I'm sure glad I did. Enjoy!

-It's definitely better than Macanudo, but still a mild smoke.
-Yeah, I like the flavor of maduro cigars. I'll try your recommendation in the near future. Thanks.Originally Posted by nhcigarfan

THanks for the recommendation though, I'll keep those in my list for future rotations. May have to go to a B&M today and buy a stick of each.Originally Posted by bigpoppapuff

camacho would be full...the others to the higher side of medium...but amazing flavors.....you might also go to rockyscigars and order a 5'r of the roxor maduro...
well smoked my first onyx reserve tonite. let it sit in the humi for 3 days. had the worst draw i've ever encountered. seriously. hopefully, this was just a dud. what i could get out of it was nice, but i about passed out trying to get smoke to just touch my teeth. i will definately try another though. for the price, it's worth a second shot.
