    Default Receiving Cigars Etiquette

Recently I sent a cigar to a member here at CS who had expressed he has never tried a particular cigar so I offered him one for free, nothing in return, so that he may try it. No big deal, glad to help out.

I waited sometime after sending the cigar waiting for at least a "hey, I got it, thanks." But, never heard anyting. Even sent out a few emails asking if he received the package. Never heard anything back.

I've given up on at least getting a thank you and personally wouldn't think too much of it now after my kindness was ignored. All in all, I feel like never sending out anymore cigars to anyone after this bad experience.

I just wanted to say to members who do receive cigars from other members, at least show the sender courtesy by saying thank you. It would be the least you can do.

You're right. I can understand sometimes "life" gets in the way and you don't have time to post a long thank you, but a quick note, or post would be appropriate.

PS. I know it wasn't me, but thanks for being a generous BOTL.

A simple thank you is expected for a gift. It ain't that hard.

if you're sure that it WAS delivered....maybe an outing is in order...but only if you're positive about delivery....USPS has been known to screw up...

It doesn't take much to type a simple thank you PM or a thread. That's the least someone could do if they were gifted something. It's especially wrong if you sent a follow up email/pm and still no acknowledgement or thanks. If you're sure it was delivered, I'm with BPP on this one. This is a very generous community and moochers should be shown the door.

I'm not sure it was delivered or not. I asked it it was. You'd think you'd hear back if it was or wasn't.

Like I said I'm not really looking for anything for myself or out to expose someone, just want to set some guidelines for stuff like this in the future. Overall I think it was a pretty sorry gesture on his part.

put it out in the open and see what happens...if you sent emails asking if a gift was delivered and still get no response....well,that's just not right.....
