All the best Pal, put lots of thought into how / when / where you'll do it. Make it something to remember.
Yeah, buddy, it wasn't the gas. Its the 'Something to remember' thing that i need to figure out. I need to ask her dad (the family is pretty traditional)and then figure out a good way to propose and what to say and where to do it. My heads begining to hurt just thinking about thinking about it!

Hey, speaking of Shelley's, when are you getting down here again? And what is the Construction and Non-Profit industry up in your neck of the woods like, while your at it?

Congrats! That is great and that is also a very good move by asking her dad. When I proposed to my wife I took her to dinner and had the waitress bring out the ring on a heart shaped dish for dessert and had another waitress with the camera waiting to take a pic while I got down on 1 knee in the middle of the place.
Family, Friends and a good cigar. Oh and some fishing too!

Do yourself a favour and ask him alone. I know several cases where the guy asked with the mother present and the Bride-to-be always finds out. Kinda ruins the suprise.

Dunno dude. Waiting for the Company's legal department to figure out a way to justify the transfer. I've been told through the grapevine that my qualifications are great.

Non-profit is great I thing, all construction is slow this time of year. Housing market is down, car industry is down, so construction follows behind that.

Congrats, I know the same exact feeling.

When I proposed to my wife, I bought the engagement ring online, and had it shipped. I followed the shipment, and was at work when it was delivered. As soon as I saw that, my heart jumped in my throat and I couldn't eat for the rest of the day. I went home and proposed to her that night, because I didn't think I'd be able to take having it in my possession any longer.

I'd love to see that picture too Bass. The info on the mother is a good bit of information. I didn't give that any thought, but I don't think her mom would be able to keep a secret like that. Just let me know when your going to get down here, I'll have a talk with Legal and let them know what the deal is. People like that listen to me.

I have the ring tucked away for now. One thing I do know, is that now really isn't the time to ask her. Things would seam to be moving too fast for me if I were to pop the question right away. When the time is right, when ever that is... , eh just kidding, this one is more appropriate . But I dont think I would wait too long to ask her dad.

Congratulations man! That'll probably be the biggest investment anyone would ever do in their life, because it's forever. Biggest thing for me would be deciding whether to do it in public or private. I don't think I have the nads to do it infront of a lot of people. Good luck, and I'm sure she'll say "hellz yeah! about time!".

PS - you'll definitely get mad props asking the father first.

Wow congratulations bro! Sounds like you're pretty crazy about her and sure about this step. It's a big one! One thing about it is that in the asking, there are always two answers. I mean, we're pretty damn sure we know what the answer is gonna be but there is always the 'what if . . ." One thing for certain: no girl will ever be offended by a proposal, no matter what her answer is! Good luck to you guys - blessings and bliss for many, many years!

There's only two kinds of cigars, the kind you like and the kind you don't.
