Wow congratulations bro! Sounds like you're pretty crazy about her and sure about this step. It's a big one! One thing about it is that in the asking, there are always two answers. I mean, we're pretty damn sure we know what the answer is gonna be but there is always the 'what if . . ." One thing for certain: no girl will ever be offended by a proposal, no matter what her answer is! Good luck to you guys - blessings and bliss for many, many years!

Is she the one? Yes and I'm positive that she thinks I'm the one. It being such a big step and such a (hopefully) long lasting commitment is the part that makes me step back and think about it. I'm sure all of you who have gone before can attest to this being a big decision. The thought of marriage and having a family together is an intimidating one, even if I'm positive about doing that with her. To get philosophical on you for a second: Life has been readying you for such decisions. Picking which college to go to, picking which job field you want to peruse, etc. In dating girls, you can begin to see what you are looking for in a mate, and what you aren't. Its funny looking back on the last 25 years and seeing how all those experiences are subconsciously preparing me for this. Deciding to buy a ring is a big step in what I see as a wonderful new chapter in my life. Whew, that is pretty heavy for an engineer!

Anyway, I want to share this moment with everyone here since you all are great people and I'm happy to be apart of this community. This has been very therapeutic.

    Congratulations!

If you're looking for ideas, take her to the first place you kissed her and pop the question there...worked for me 9 years ago!

haha, that brings back memories that I would rather not share with everyone. But it is a really good idea.

Certainly. If I'm crafty like Bass, then /I might even get a picture up.

Well, on another note, I'll be in Puerto Rico tomorrow with her for a week. Ahh, with the snow and the crappy weather here, it is a welcome change. 23 more hours till take-off!
