"No one can tell me what is a good cigar -- for me. I am the only judge. There are no standards -- no real standards. Each man's preference is the only standard for him, the only one which he can accept, the only one which can command him."
~ Mark Twain
For tight cigars, you might find a plug in the stick - and (I) try to massage it out. Otherwise, I put skewer through it to get it out.
Look at that... I plumb got myself 5 raisins and 7 termites.
My father always told me that when " grown folks talk, you shut up and listen". So when I first started smoking cigars, an old wise one called himself giving me some "tips".
I still remember almost all of them today. And one of the questions I had for him was, " What if after I light a cigar, I realize it has a tighter draw than I like?"
He told me to " massage it out" with my figner tips, up and down the stick, until it has a nice and even draw. A draw I like. So I still do this today, and find it works quite well. in extreme instances, i could poke something, like they said in an earlier post, a skewer through it, to save the stick.
Good luck sir. Happy toking.....Tomahawk202![]()

Yep, I do what M1101 and Tomahawk do. I massage that thing. Actually, you can usually feel where the blockage area is. I press down pretty hard in that area and I slowly roll my fingers back and forth.
Even that doesn't work sometimes, so I play through and draw like MFer until I get past the problem area. You know.....that somehow always detracts from the experience for me, though. I always make a little mental note of the cigar and I then begin to get wary of that brand, size and shape.
puro pot pass VI loser
