I beleive those coin sleves might crack when you take a drill to them (depends on hardness). I would just grab a few pantyhose from your nearest female and use them.

Going with the tube theme, you could probably rig something up with PVC pipes... you can drill into it no problem if those things crack, plus you can get it in any possible size and shape you want.

I'd just stick with the panty hose deal. I bought some of the little bags from heartfelt that hold 1/2 lb of beads. I only used 2 shot glasses full of beads for my trunk(fills it about half way) and it holds around 66% with about 180 smokes in it. How much beads you have in thier? If you want it to look neat I would use a humidifier pad and break it open and put the beads in and reseal it
