    Default New Humidor Advice

I was thinking about buying a new humidor because my current one only fits 25 cigars, which is not enough anymore since smoking cigars is become a favorite of mine. I was thinking about getting a 100-150 count humidor then I stumbled upon this baby --->

    http://www.cheaphumidors.com/Merchan...roduct_Count=1

    or (same humidor, different site)

    http://www.cigarhumidors-online.com/...orenlarge.html

It seems like a better buy because most humidors that are 100-200 count are more the roughly the same price or more. Plus I'll probably be smoking cigars forever.

Now to my question, has anyone ever bought from cheaphumidors or from cigar humidors online before? Did the merchandise arrive damaged or something wrong with it? How was the shipping?
Also, does anyone own this particular humidor, if so how well does it keep your cigars/work for you?

    Cooler

    1. Cheaper
    2. Holds humidity extremely well, better than my desktop, which is why the desktop is in the cooler
    3. Saves time, you don't have to put the cigars in the humidor, you can just put the box in the cooler
    4. Ages cigars in original boxes

Wow, didn't know much about coolers. Looked up some info and found out they are really easy to make and do hold a lot more cigars. Plus it's inexpensive.
    Thanks for the info/help.

The cooler is the way to go if you plan on buying alot of cigars (and its cheap). I still like to have a few humidors to put my singles in (since I managed to almost fill my 2nd cooler even with 10+ cigar trays). However, if you do plan on buying that humidor the cheapest place to get it is on Ebay. I just got the exact model for $52 (that includes shipping). Just look through Ebay and you should see the model, its preatty common (it will be about $30 and about $20 for shipping if you get it from the same person I bought it from). Hell you may even find some other cool humidors on Ebay.

Coolers are great now because summer is over and the big ones are all on sale. You're trapped now

Ebay has a lot of humidors, and they are dirt cheap. Shipping is a lot though, guess it makes up the difference in price.

Watch some of the ones on Ebay. A lot are nothing more than glorified jewelry boxes with non-existent seals.

I agree with Chris. Coolers are cheap, have great seals and allow you to buy more cigars.

They are better, but since I'm in college, I don't have the time to build a cooler. I'll be looking forward to the time, when I get the time, to make myself a cooler.

I don't plan on buying from Ebay (even though the prices are tempting), never have. I'm afraid I'll get a dud or just a wood box. The only things I buy online are books.

    Make yourself a cooler?

    Here's the steps:

    1 - Buy It
    2 - Put In Beads
    3 - Put In Cigars

That's it. There's no seasoning a cooler. You could put some beads in a day or so before the cigars, but that's it. If you need trays for singles, walmart has platic ones. I think they're like 2 for a dollar.

Is the that really it? Read somewhere you had to buy/get spanish ceder and line the inside of the cooler.
Instead of beads on site said you could buy a florist sponge (whatever that is) that absorbs water and soak in that 50/50 water and solution mix. and place it in tupaware with holes in it.

Your steps sound much better, and easier.
    Probably do that soon.
    Thanks.

You can do all that. But really, just buy the cooler, the beads from heartfeltindustries.com and then load your cigars in. Get some extra boxes from your local B&M if you want that cedar smell.

A cooler is cooler, also double for a seat in an emergency. Waterproof in case of flooding or leaks. Big, (relatively) cheap.
I thought it was a tampon joke!

The cedar is just a natural way to regulate humidity. Not needed with the beads. Plus, cedar cigar boxes work even better because they help organize the cooler.

The beads work better than a sponge. They are like Ron-Co..."Just set it, and forget it!". With the sponge you need a prop glycol solution and you have to monitor the humidity to make sure it stays stable. With the beads, you spray them with Distilled water and that's it.

My cooler was ready for cigars a day and a half after I got it. Now its full and I'm trying not to buy another one.

My quest for a new humidor is over.
597 hooked me up with a nice 300 count humidor for a nice low price and even threw in some nice sticks.
This is a major upgrade considering my old humidor holds up to 25 cigars.
    Thanks man
