Default The Official Jameson Cigar Review Thread

As a reference to this thread, http://www.cigarsmokers.com/showthre...hlight=jameson , post your reviews in this thread:

    Here is my take...

Brad Mayo was kind enough to drop me a PM requesting a review of his product. Thanks for dropping my name, Aaron. Several others are doing the same and I look forward to reading their opinions; especially on the other sizes. I lean toward smaller cigars, so Brad mailed out a few of the PC sized sticks from his line.

I do not usually comment on this aspect of a cigar, but the packaging (logo and label) offer a nice presentation…simple, yet classy. None of that bold, big, and gaudy stuff adorning cigars of several other makers (CAO, Gurkha etc.)

The construction and cap work were both nice. The cigar had the qualities I like in texture and firmness and was covered in a tasty looking dark brown Sumatra wrapper.

The prelight aroma was pleasant, but mild. Based on the wrapper and aroma, I thought I was about to partake in a mild cigar experience and lit her up…

The draw was somewhat tight and never really opened up. It was not plugged, nor was it painful to smoke or anything. I just had to work a little harder.

The ash was delicate and a nice shade of near white. The burn started razor sharp and lost its’ course slightly halfway in. Nothing more than a 1/3 inch swing.

The flavor was neutral and semi-sweet initially. I could not pinpoint any particular flavors but leather comes to mind. Smooth. The body was medium throughout. The flavor was medium as well, but leaned toward strong (which I like) at the core of the cigar. A nice spice became apparent ¼ of the way in and picked up in intensity all the way through to the two thirds point where it finished with that leather-like neutral earthiness again.

I would give this cigar a strong B+ grade (88 points). Age should bring out even more in this already good stick. Considering the price point (about $4 a cigar), I will definitely purchase some more of these.

Sorry, no pics. I was multi-tasking out in the garage while I smoked this…
