That pretty much seals the deal for me as far as a general hunting rifle. Originally, I was looking at .458's, but that doesn't make much sense for what I'm looking to hunt. My brother is in the military, but his suggestions are illegal for me to buy. the .06 is also a good deal more affordable, even if I do have to get a custom stock (I'm a pretty big guy).

We only get 11 days. One deer. Centerfire, muzzleloader, or bow only.

It's getting to be prime fishing season here. I've been busy with that.

Yeah the 06 is the way to go. If I hadn't bought the 30-30, and I do like it, I would have bought a 06. If I ever go west or elk or pull a moose license I'll go bigger but for now, no need. I need the 12 gauge first.

After the 12 g. I'm going back to a bow. The season in NH starts a whole 2 months earlier than for the gun and you can get two more tags.
