The black ones are damned near bulletproof. There is a review on the otterbox in the accessories forum. Those ones also have foam in them so on a bumpy truck ride they should help protect your sticks. And for temperature issues, I was thinking about it and why not throw it in small cooler (with an ice pack if needed). That should correct temperature issues in the summer. I don't see you having temperature issues in the cooler/cold months. Or maybe you can just make a small coolerdor and get some sort of padding to protect your cigars. That should work too, since that's all those travel humidors really are anyway.

If you're only out for a few days, ziplock bags will do fine. if your out for 2 weeks, I would get some sort of humidification on them. It's probably not dire, but I would.

That sounds good. I'll have to get one ordered soon.
I also found out today that a friend of mine has a friend who makes humidors for some local shops. He want to make a few humidors for my friend who asked if I wanted one. All we have to do is supply the hardware. I have a lot of walnut that is perfect. What else should I be looking for as far as a home humi goes?

Definitely get an otterbox or xikar. Get one that at least holds 30 cigars because you never know what you'll want to smoke. You'll also want to get 60% humidity bead puck for the humidification too (replace the puck that comes with the humidor). Propylene glycol solutions and florist foam just don't do an efficient job. Make sure you keep a bottle of distilled water in the truck.

Thanks for the help. That's what I'm looking for.
