As far as posts being removed from the 2.0 pass thread, honestly they were not removed in the proper manner and I can’t tell what was going on. (I have instructed the mods on how to delete posts in the future). But in an organizational thread, off topic posts don’t belong. As far as I’m concerned they are game for deletion.

Hex, all fine and good, I don't think anyone disagrees with anything you said in that post but THIS THREAD is about CockyHoskins piss poor "moderating" and deletion of threads and posts.

I would hope that you'd review members concerns here regarding his behavior AND his flaming response and take the appropriate action.

He was WRONG and got called out for it. Now a mature person would have handled himself quite differently, he would have said "I should not have deleted the thread, I should not have referred to members as "boy" and I should not have made the nasty-assed "Busch (sp) league" flame as a slap to other members here especially since I am a moderator here who should know better (BTW Cocky it's "Bush" not "Busch").

But no, what does he do? He throws a temper tantrum and resigns. We have an expression for people like this in politics, we call them "Stompers" when they are wrong or don't get their way, they throw temper tantrums and "stomp" their feet and storm out of the meeting.

He's acting immature and he needs to cool off and learn to not lose his temper.

Actually, no you don't. The only time there might be an emergency is if illegal material, or something grossly offensive, is posted, of any nature, but it can wait until you are able to remove it from the site. Works over at CP and MANY other forums all across the net. I have been running and moderating all manner of forums for most of the 15 years I have been on the internet. I can tell you now the best way to handle it is to keep as hands off as possible. You will find if you take this approach the users themselves will become protective of your forum and it will grow more than you can imagine.

As for cocky, anytime someone in power on a forum starts refuting others arguments with "well, it's so-and-so's site and they made me moderator" they need to go. While technical ownership may well be yours, as long as you keep the site open to public registration and urge folks to be active and help grow the site it in essence belongs to the users as much as it does you.

Oh man that is some funny shit there bud,been here since Jan and he is a veteran LMAO. History has proven that the more you fuck with people you will have a fight for your life on your hands. Cocky - shame on you.... You've been on this board for a "long time" - well, I've been on the Internet for a LONG TIME (back in the days when I had to connect my 300 baud modem by throwing a switch). Does that make me better able to judge than you? No more than you being on this board for 6 months (long, in terms of the life of this board) and being a better judge than me... Just because YOU deem yourself to be BETTER than others, doesn't make it so... If you WERE better than everyone else, you'd realize YOU AREN'T better than everyone else... Given those stupid statements you made that CC quoted, you certainly don't get it.

After all of the discussions that have been had about what it good and what is bad - and the tolerance shown for those discussions, if I were the mod, I would have let it go and asked Hex what he thought. Given what has already happened in the past that would seem to ME to be the correct course. A mod is a member with privileges that allow them to modify or remove posts. NOTHING MORE.... you are not in some kind of elite class, dominant over all the other members of this board. Start that crap and this board will QUICKLY fold...

As predicted, the dynamics of this board have changed - but not the way the likes of Oblik and Cocky thought. There are more active members now, and more signing up every day, despite their complaints that CC and I (and others) were pissing off the board members. They believed this would ultimately lead to a board meltdown. That meltdown has not occurred. And I don't see it happening anytime soon - this board is very vibrant (if you don't buy that, do a comparison to LTC...). Believe it or not, some that had pretty low opinions of me and CC are now thinking we're not so bad.

As far as resigning as a mod - you SHOULD - if you plan on acting like a child.

Hex - I'm sure you feel bad about it - but someone who shuts down, stomps his feet, and generally acts like a whiner when a crisis develops has NO BUSINESS being a mod. It's best he recognize that and take himself out of the action...

I don't know how Cocky has the time to:
Be a "moderator" on this site
Host a pass on this site
And run his "CockyTalk" site dedicated to University of South Carolina athletics where he averages 25 posts per day

He started that site near the end of March of this year therefore spends very little time here (in comparison) since the inception of that site.
I wonder how in hell he manages to earn a living between posts? If he can, God bless him but geez Cocky, don't let "CockyTalk" consume your whole life

When he was on "vacation" at Hilton Head, he made NO POSTS here from May 26th to June 5th yet had plenty of time to posts his 25+ posts per day on "CockyTalk"

Since he really hasn't spent much time here he probably had no clue that Oblik has essentially vanished from this site.

What happened to his avatar and his sig tag? Looks to me like he's taken his ball and gone home.
