Just run everything threw a spell checker.
Howdy.
I realize I'm completely new here, but I'd love to get in on 4 or 5 of the Maduros. I'm perfectly happy paying via PP, Check, or any way you prefer.
Let me know if you're agreeable...
Best,
Ben
Your call... but if you have some left over, I have money a-ready, and I'm happy to wait for checks to clear, etc...
Hey look at that! I just doubled my number of posts! :-)
B.
Wow! Sorry. I was paying attention to rule #3.
Maybe you should pay attention to #1 and lighten up a little on the new guy... Note smiley face from last post.
Enjoy!

Why you gotta be such a bully Will? All the poor guy wanted was some cigars, and now look what you've done - he's gone, and likely won't ever come back. Dangit, just dangit.
Stop bullying, you dang bullies!
Oh! I just remembered something. I went to a job site a couple months ago at a school and saw a sign that made me laugh, and so I took a picture of it... now let me see if I can find it...
Ah, here it is:
Notice that the sign says "No Bullying" - but then it has the cross through it, so I think it is meant to promote bullying. Probably to try and toughen the pansy kids up so they don't grow up to be adult pansies.
Is it pansies, or pansy's?

Amazing! You guys should have your own reality show...or cartoon... :)

Ben, it's because you are totally green. We don't know you, you haven't been around long enough to gauge you, and no one is sure if you are what you say you are.
Post some, read and learn, and do the Newbie Sampler. As we get to know you, you will be more than willing to participate in these sort of things.
We get a lot of green people who want to participate in things, we see them once, and then never see them again.
The people around here can/will/do rip on ya...it comes with the territory. Give yourself some time around, do some trading, and let us get to know you.
That's just my two cents worth, and though two cents don't mean much, and I don't speak for the community as a whole (just as someone who has been around it for a bit), a couple of posts, some time, some trades, and a generally good disposition will get you treated like one of the regulars. And don't worry- everyone gets called a douchenozzle sooner or later! I honestly think it's a sign of affection really.
Relax, get to know us, don't take things personally unless it's done in a fashion that is designed to prove to you beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was personal.
Other than that, light up a smoke and smile man.
Who got called a douchenozzle, and why wasn't I alerted?
The powers that be might take it all away

I'll take the douchenozzle title for today, because I've been feeling left out!![]()
With the treatment of newbies I've seen here, I'm not surprised you see so few of them ever again, although I appreciate the first coherent response.
I only posted because the rules of this thread SPECIFICALLY said that you accept newbies, and that being an asshat was prohibited. So I reach out to make an offer, and I'm shot down and then insulted.
Yes, I'm new, but as a newbie, I've read and posted on quite a few forums over the past little while, including Puff, CA, CG, and others, and this is the first time I've ever been treated like this. I've often seen on other, non-cigar forums how older users can create their own little fiefdoms to lord over, but this is the first time I've experienced it first hand on a Cigar-related message board.
This can be the final post on the subject, unless you won't feel satisfied without having the last word. I don't want to ruin your fun.
-Ben
Did you see this guys? He posts on PUFF! He's a real cigar smoker! Now we've pissed him off!
What you don't understand here, Ben, is the word "newbie". I think of a newbie having < 100 posts, not some asshole who shows up on a split day one and demands to participate. I would call that person a puffnozzle.
I, too, don't see where you've been bullied. You asked to be part of a trade, and were denied. You then demanded to be part of a trade, citing your interpretation of the rules, and then denied. Then you insult the fine members of this forum. It doesn't look like badwhale is the one bullying. You asked and were told no. Grow a fucking pair of balls.
Your replies are your own indictment. Never seen such shallow and sophomoric responses. Take a look at what you've written and see if you think it exemplifies the ideal of the friendly cigar smoking brotherhood and lifestyle.
Since you're all 'real' cigar smokers, not like those on other forums, I know you'll enjoy the self-reflection.
I've demanded nothing except to be accorded respect and decency, but perhaps that's beyond the scope of your mission here.
I'll go and leave you cool kids to your fun. Enjoy your target practice.

In Will's original response he was kind, cordial and completely clear to you on what you should do. Post an introduction, hang around a little bit. He even mentioned that splits like this come up all the time. I understand that you are a little bit upset that you were denied in this box split but you have to understand that if you just said something to the effect of "OK I understand that you don't want a complete stranger joining, I will just catch the next one" none of this would have happened. By starting to call out one of the senior members of the forum, a member who contributes as much if not more than everyone else is just poor form on your part.
It normally takes a couple of days to get your account activated. During that time did you not come across a single instance of a newb meltdown? In the future, just realize that this is a close knit family and the members don't appreciate someone new coming in and asking to participate in box splits and such without so much as an introduction.
Good luck on the other forums, I'm sorry that this one didn't work out for you but if you took the advice in Will's original response this never would have happened.

Daigz...
In my first response I completely agreed that it was his call, and I offer to be included if he had any left over. I demanded nothing. I even made fun of myself saying how I'd just doubled my posts, and ended with a smiley so my intentions were obvious.
For that I received obscenities, insults, and sarcasm. Senior or not, that was out of line, and being in the majority doesn't make you right in this case.
Thankfully there are a lot of options for cigar communities (of course, none filled with real smokers like her).
I wont let the door hit me...blah blah blah...
