    Default butane fuel

So I bought a sampler pack that comes with a torch lighter. I was told that you want to buy high grade butane fuel. aren't all butane fuels the same? thanks for the input.

I use Ronson in my Mac torch lighters. Haven't had a problem yet.

No. Some butane fuels have fancier marketing and cost more

Seriously though, some lighters need cleaning and purging more often than others. Some never need cleaning, some never need purging. Butane fuels may include things other than butane, e.g., isobutane or propane. Those other things may or may not contribute to the frequency of cleaning, depending on the lighter.

I am tempted to get a converter to allow camp stove butane to be used in a lighter - http://www.mec.ca/Products/product_d...=1236823203122

I've had lighters that would probably light on perfume and others that only would work with the multi refined fuels. Don't know the difference, but it seems to depend on the lighter. My local shop has Xikar butane, so that's what I use.

Vector butane is quality and it's cheap. Typically 5 bucks for a large canister (so far 1 canister has lasted me over 2 years).
