I got a Riddle

I feel i have to provide an alternative to the original riddles answer of "You'll give me 8 years."
The man may also have truthfully said, "I have 4 years of presentence incarceration credit." It being true, the judge would have had to sentence him to 4 years which his credit for which would have forced the judge to release him as having served his whole sentence.
